and while on or leaving a school bus.
Students who are dropped from a classfor any reason other than a WAF, (Withdrawl-Attendance- Failure) or whowish to drop a class after the first three school days of a semester, willreceive a failing grade for that course.
UNDER 16ATTENDANCE
1. Absence- the non-attendanceof
a student on those days and half days in which the school was in session.
2. Excused absence- any absencethat
is excused by the parent or guardian within two school days of thestudent's
return to school.
3. Unexcused absence- absencethat
is not excused by the parent within two days.
4. Habitual truant- any childwith
five or more unexcused absences in any one school year.
RULES
1. A valid excuse, from aparent,
must be received by the school office within two days.
2. Unexcused absences willresult
in parent notification and detention.
OVER 16ATTENDANCE
1. Students are allowed anabsence
score of eight points during a semester.
2. Unexcused absences result ina).

Assigned detention time.
A tardy is defined as 5 minutes orless late to class for an unacceptable reason. Detention time willbe assigned by the teacher beginning with the third tardy per class/persemester. Teachers are encouraged to contact parents on all tardies.
Detention will be served on the dayassigned form 3:20 to 4:00 p.m.. Detention time has priority overany other activity time including athletic practice and jobs. Iftardy to detention, the student must serve the rest of that day's detentionplus one more. The student is responsible to keep track of theirdetention. If a student fails to attend their detention, the studentwill be assigned Saturday school or be suspended with parent notificationand a parent conference may be held.
Students have the right to appealdecisions
to the next level. The appeal process would include thefollowing
steps:

4. Superintendent of Schools
5. Board of Education
1. Students will not use profanelanguage.
2. Students may not be loudand
boisterous.
3. Groups congregating for the purposeof
harassment, name calling, or general misbehavior will not be tolerated.
4. Students must refrain fromblocking
the hallways.
5. Outward physical acts,such
as kissing and inappropriate intimate contact, are not acceptable.
6. Language or physical conductthat
is intended to threaten, intimidate, or degrade other people is notacceptable.
1. Shirts and shoes are tobe
worn at all times.
2. At all times, clothingshall
cover the shoulders and midriff, shall not be low-cut in the frontor back,
and shall not come above mid thigh.
3. Students may not wear hats,or
any other type of headgear, in the school building during the schoolday
(8:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m.)
4. Clothing and accessorieswith
obscene or unacceptable language or graphics are prohibited.
5. Clothing and accessoriespromoting
drugs, alcohol, tobacco or gang activity are prohibited.
