Why I started teaching:
As a child, I enjoyed school.  I played "school" at the babysitter's home after school.  My interest in education continued through high school.  I chose a college close to home, not too large, that had been founded as a teacher's college.

Other Activities:
1. Long time volunteer for American Cancer Society
2. Christian Education Instructor
3. Church committee leader/member
4. Member of Kiwanis, P.E.O., Washakie County Reading Council (secretary); graduate of Washakie Leadership Institute.

Extras:
My career in the Worland Schools began with an invitation from Cathy Groshart to be a job coach.  After those enlightening years, Sandy Bishop invited me to an interview for an aide position in the Carl Perkins grant program in the vocational area at WHS.  I enjoyed 7 years with Doug Reachard in the Auto shop and classroom.  After Mr. Reachard's retirement, I sought other work in the educational field.  I was fortuante to transfer to Worland Middle School to teach Strategies for 2 years - grades 7 and 8.  I also was a reading job coach during the same two years.  Then I was a victim of RIF.  When school resumed that fall (2000), I job coached til march when I moved over to Southside.  I worked at South from March 2001 to May 2002.  i am bach there now as a longterm sub thanks to Mr. Joe Bishop.  the challenge has become manageable and the experience addictive.  I am Finally living my dream - teaching in an elementary classroom.
